RPG-7 Historical Overview

Introduction:
The RPG-7 (Ruchnoy Protivotankoviy Granatomyot, or Handheld Anti-Tank Grenade Launcher) is a widely recognized portable, reusable, unguided, shoulder-launched, anti-tank rocket-propelled grenade launcher.

Development:

  • Origin: Soviet Union

The RPG-7 was designed to replace the earlier RPG-2, offering improvements in range, accuracy, and warhead variety. It was engineered to be simple, rugged, and cost-effective, suitable for mass production and use by irregular forces.
